Where it seems to take an eternity to complete and your already looking forward to the recovery.So we have compiled a list of 10 runs that might just spice up your training routine!
#1 The Run Up the Empire State Building
Why not spice up your training routine and attempt the 88 story endurance challenge of the Empire State Building Run Up. A great excuse to visit a magnificent city, you could continue your training in Central park whilst participating in this coveted event.
Typically the course takes anywhere from 10 minutes upwards. This might not seem like that long, but climbing the 1,576 steps in that time is a real test of anyones strength and endurance and could be a great way to test out the strength in the legs of anyone.

#2 Colour Run
The Colour Run is typically a 5K event where participants complete the event whilst getting covered with coloured powder on their way. It’s becoming increasingly popular and is a fun way for beginners to get their first taste of a public running event, as well as showing others that running is fun and should be enjoyed!
So rather than go on your usual route, why not grab some friends and spend a couple of hours enjoying the atmosphere and spice up that training.
#3 Hot Chocolate Run
As part of a movement of running events that has been sweeping the US, the Hot Chocolate run is fast becoming one of the most popular fun run events in the US boasting over 200,000 participants since its inception. It’s certainly not the the healthiest nutritional based race there is but its certainly popular with many in the US..

#4 Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon
The Walt Disney Marathon weekend comprises of a number of events spread over the two Disney locations, (Paris and Orlando), with full marathon, half marathon, 10KM and 5KM runs. Another great idea for a family holiday where there something for everyone! Certainly a great way to shake up that training routine and experience something a bit different..

What is Tough Mudder? Well in the words of the events creaters its a 10-12 mile (18-20 km) event designed to test the strength and endurance of all it competitors in a controlled environment.
Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a timed race but a team challenge that allows participants to experience exhilarating, yet safe, world-class obstacles they won’t find anywhere else.

#6 The Undie Run – Philanthropy Just Got Sexy
Another event increasing in popularity is the Undie Run! The Undie Run began in colleges in the US and now there are a number of Undie Runs around the world from London to New York. Participants run the distance, usually 5KM, in their underwear to raise money for a number of charity

#7 Marathon du Medoc
Are you partial to the odd glass of red wine? Well why not try some of the best wines in Bordeaux on your marathon through the scenic views of the best vineyards in France?

#8 The Santa Run
Feeling christmassy? Well why not participate in a 5KM Santa fun run. This is another event that would jazz up your training routine, especially over the Christmas period! A great way to encourage friends and family to join you and get them into running!

#9 The Glow Neon Fun Run
The Glow Run is typically a 3KM and 5KM event where participants walk, run or dance the distance whilst getting covered in glowing neon paint. The event aims to raise vital funds which will have a real impact on the services we are able to offer blind and partially sighted people across the UK and around the world.

#10 The Zombie Run
Want to feel the exhilaration and adrenaline that comes from being chased by zombies whilst completing a run? Well with the Zombie run, you can! The Zomebie run comprises of a 5KM race where participants are chased and grabbed by people dressed as zombies. Definitely not your average run and would certainly spice up any training routine
